are an important part of the fabric of any modern city. They allow the general public to view the city from on high. Based on volume of skyscrapers, New York City is the tallest city in the world. When you're down in the concrete canyons of Manhattan, from most vantage points you can't see the forest for the trees. An observation deck gives New Yorkers and tourist alike an opportunity to view the breathtaking skyline from an elevated perspective not normally available to the average citizen. Undoubtedly the observation deck atop World Trade Center tower 2 was the feature that made it one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Looking up at them may have been an awe inspiring sight, but standing up on the rooftop allowed visitors to actually "experience" them. This is one feature of the towers that I feel very strongly must be restored to the World Trade Center site.
